About Pendle Production's Artistic Director

Founded Pendle Productions in 1985 after working in Rep and with a variety of Production Companies. Tim Lince has spent time as a musical writer and director for the BBC along with work as an artistic director of the Mantieou Arts Centre.

As a writer Mr Lince is prolific and many of the Shows and Musicals listed have been written and Composed by his hand. With James and the Giant Peach he had the pleasure of re-Scoring and Orchestrating Herbert Chappels masterpiece of musical opera, and in 1999 was given the rights to adapt a new stage version of this Dahl classic.

After negotiations with Eon Ltd he secured the world premiere performance rights for CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG and successfully wrote and staged this New Musical adaptation of the Book.

Whilst a good deal of Mr Lince's adaptation work is aimed at the young, his own productions are more adult in nature. "Girls Talk" (a hours Opera) based on the final court case rendering Genetic manipulation of the female race outlawed was viewed by both audiences here and in Canada."The Ubiquitous Diary Of Mrs Jean Nobody" has also toured in this country and been premiered in Canada.

2001 saw the launch of Martha the Magical Cat, a series of nine productions based on the nine lives of a cat. Since "Martha" started touring it has become a theatrical Phenomenon pulling box office records at the theatres it has played at. In 2002 we launched the third Martha production and the Company worked on the opening of the Manchester Commonwealth games with their Giant Streetwalkers.

2003 saw the launch of a fantastic new production of Oliver Twist with Filmatic music and a stunning set, "Martha The Cat's Lucky Escape" (The fourth in the series) and "Tales from the Gypsy Caravan". 2004 saw an extended national tour of "Tales From the Gypsy Caravan" and new for the Company was "The Dragon who lost his Home" a delightful eco friendly musical that toured from April 2004 .

And so we came to 2005, two decades of touring and we brought back, to celebrate, the Critically acclaimed "Secret Garden", "The Dragon who lost his home" and "Martha the Magical Cat".

Leading up to our 21st Birthday Celebrations in 2006 we had relaunched "Martha The Cat's Lucky Escape", " The Emperor's New Clothes", "Wind In The Willows", and "The Railway Children". Later in 2006 we saw the launch of two fantastic new shows:- "African, Asian and Eastern" multicultural takes from around the world and the New winter production of " A Christmouse Tale".

In 2007 and we had our Multicultural tales still on the road. With "Alice Through the Looking Glass" and "Wind in the Willows" also touring it was a very busy season. In June last year we launched our new Production "Out Of Africa" (Puppets and Storytelling), and we had our biggest winter season ever.

With over 800 'live' performances last year we have maintained our commitment to 'quality' assuring you of a performance that will remain in your memory for ever. Our reviews from Pantomime at Christmas were spectacular and we have doubled the number of venues we perform at.

Discussions and contracting are under way to launch two rep seasons of shows at main stream theatres, Pantomime contracts are signed and we are negotiating various Theatre tours for 2009/2010 . (We also hope to see the release of the "Martha" books and the making of a television series based on her life.)
