ALICE IN WONDERLAND
A musical adaptation by T .J. Lince.
This delightful adaptation has been carefully carved from Lewis Carroll's
original. In this two hour show the audience follow Alice down the Rabbit
hole and through adventures that will excite and entertain. At the opening
the Mad Hatter invites the audience to enter his Wonderland and this is
what happens... the Maddest... the most visually spectacular performance
to be seen on stage. As the Mad Hatter opens the book-like set, characters
fall out onto the stage creating enjoyment for all.
This show is aimed at all those young at heart... and the music covers every
conceivable style. What about the Mock Turtle who is a failed Country and
Western singer... or a Reggae Caterpillar... And even the Duchess has got
rhythm as she screams at her baby. Is it any wonder that Alice starts wondering
that `I might be a little mad too'?
To go with the music there are skill fully choreographed dances that add
to the excitement on stage. A Waltz. Rock and Roll... and even a Maypole
dance with the Mad Hatter as the Maypole. Full fur animal masks create the
atmosphere of a child's playroom that has come to life... and once you have
seen the six-armed Caterpillar with the glitter wig, will you ever forget?
Add to this the White Rabbit who's always late and a galaxy of other characters
and you have a performance that is timeless. 'I think I'm growing again'
says Alice... and grow she does, for the next time she is seen she walks
onto the stage nine feet tall on stilts and still dances and sings her way
through the show. And of course there is always the opportunity for the
audience to join in, even when forced by the Queen's Guard. And where do
you sit at the Tea Party..`Why on the table of course'. Things get Madder
and Madder until the Queen orders Alice to be removed.
Guard: 'Well how do I do that Marm?'
Queen: 'The only way to have her removed is cut off her head. Yes off with
her head.'
But is it all a dream?
